It’s always impressive to see five-year-olds work freely with paints. Teaching kindergarteners to draw large enough so that painting inside a shape is even possible required just a few simple tactics. In this project, students used a black oil pastel to draw lines and simple shapes like circles to create a still life of zinnias based on the art of Clementine Hunter. Liquid tempera paint was used to add bold color and make the beautiful zinnias stand out on the background.
