4th grade Baby Sea Turtles

These adorable baby sea turtles have hatched from their eggs and are ready to make the long trip to the saltwater sea. In this lesson that has been inspired by the illustrations in the children’s book Chase the Moon, Tiny Turtle by Kelly Jordan and Sally Walker, students explored layering watercolor washes to create new colors. They also used overlapping to create a sense of space in their artwork in this multi-layered artwork.
