Bryce Canyon National Park in southwestern Utah offers breathtaking views. This Colorado Plateau landscape is considered high desert and is known for towering hoodoos, which are columns of weathered rock. In this lesson, students focused on line and shape as they drew their Bryce Canyon landscape. They also used overlapping and scale to show space. This is not just any drawing project though. Instead of using pencil or black oil pastel, students drew with liquid glue which created clearly defined outlines that were filled in with chalk pastel for color.
