1st Grade Line Sculptures

1st graders learned about the element of art line and the difference between 2-D and 3-D.  2-D is flat like a drawing while 3-D pops out like a sculpture.  Students created 3-D lines by folding, bending and manipulating paper strips.  They created zig-zag, curved, curly, vertical, horizontal, diagonal and wavy lines.  Some students even made up their own unique type of 3-D lines!  Some of these sculptures would make fun roller coasters!
