1st Grade Paul Klee Castles

First graders learned about artist, Paul Klee and his "Castle and Sun" painting.  They noticed the shapes and colors in his painting.  They created their own versions of Castles inspired by Klee using the element of art, shape.  They added details with elements of art, line and colors using oil pastels.  Students used the watercolor resist technique to paint the sky with watercolor paint.  The paint resists the oil pastel and only leaves paint on the paper.  It is a magical technique!
