Oregon Calendar Contest Crabs

Every year, the Oregon department of agriculture puts out a calendar, featuring products grown raised, or found in Oregon. Students must submit an artwork to be featured for each of the calendar months, and could win $50 if their artwork is selected. The 1st graders learned about the Oregon crab, and painted a Dungeness crab. Using watercolor and table salt for texture students created an underwater landscape featuring their happy crab.
