4th Grade Yarn Jellyfish

Student artists used jellyfish as the subject for their art. The goal of this piece was to show the principles of art: texture and movement. 
They created a base for the jellyfish which is called the bell. They used yarn to create designs of texture. When the bell was complete, student artists used fringed yarn to represent the tentacles and oral arms. Did you know that the tentacles are the parts that sting?
We viewed a lot of underwater scenes with many different types of jellyfish as inspiration. We hope these beautiful art pieces make you smile.
