Thanks to a donation from Mary at the Crystal Glass Studio in Carbondale, we were able to experiment with fusing glass!
Students practiced safety first as they learned to cut, grind and melt glass for personal artworks: charms, keychains, necklaces, magnets and rings. Artists had options to inlay copper wire, use glass paint and layer transparent/dichroic/opaque glass for different results. Some students created with a specific plan in mind while others experimented abstractly.
Kids were very excited to see what came out of the kiln & took them home already! We can't wait to create more with glass in the future.
