Students in grades 2 and 3 studied works created by the Dominican painter Candido Bido. They noticed his use of agricultural fields, landscapes, and birds that represented his homeland. After viewing his work, 3rd grade students created their own landscapes using a variety of lines. Second grade students chose birds from various parts of the world that they connected to and drew from observation. Both grades learned to mix primary colors to create secondary colors and used pointillism to paint their works of art.
