Batik Fabric

Students learned about the ancient technique of dying fabric called batik. Batik is when melted wax is applied to fabric to mask out designs that will not be colored with dye. The wax is removed from the fabric revealing patterns and designs. In art class we used gel glue and tempera paint to create a batik like piece of fabric.
