Intermediate Unit Art Show 2019-2020 (pre-closure)

Here you will find the artwork created by the Intermediate students from September 2019 to March 2020. We continue to develop our understanding of the elements of art which are line, shape, color, value, form, texture and space. Cross content areas are explored through lessons on symmetry, color mixing, art history and world cultures. Fine motor skills are continuing to be developed and emphasis is placed on the process moreso than the product. There is a great quote attributed to Pablo Picasso: "Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up." The purpose of elementary art education is to foster this idea by allowing for student success which will in turn promote children's desire to inquire, question, experiment and solve problems. Please enjoy the wonderful work of the Intermediate students!
