2nd Gr: Barrilete Panels

In honor of Dia de los Muertos, or "Day of the Dead" this year's artistic endeavor was the result of colloration between the lower school Spanish program and the Art program.  All lower school classes participated in creating small panels that were combined to create one large composition that is inspired by Guatemala's Sumpango Kite Festival and their traditional artform, "Barriletes Gigantes", or giant kites!  The panels range from written messages of love, hope and inspiration from passed loved ones, created by 3rd and 4th grade students, and collages marigolds and butterflies that were created by our first and second grade classes.
