Our 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th graders created various artworks inspired by Valentine's Day. Our 1st graders created mosaic style hearts using geometric shapes of their choice arranged in a patterns inspired by the book "The Shape of My Heart" by Mark Sperring. Our 2nd graders used a guided drawing to create a duck and then used a variety of collage and coloring techniques to create the special heart Valentines he is holding. Their work was based on the book "Click, Clack, Moo, I Love You" by Doreen Cronin. Our 3rd graders created abstract collages based on the work of Swiss artist Hans Arp. They dropped torn pieces of paper randomly onto their hearts to create a random collage. Finally, our 4th graders created heart sculptures in the style of American artist Jim Dine.
