Biography

Angelique B. Troy (a.k.a Angelique B. Sow) was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. She studied art while pursuing her undergraduate studies at Kent State University, when at that time it was declared as her minor, with a concentration in Crafts /Fibers. After completing graduate school and receiving her Master of Education degree in Community Counseling, she held positions in the areas of mental health and social services. Not having a sense of fulfillment, Angelique returned to school at Notre Dame College of Ohio, where she further pursued her love for art by working toward and receiving her license in Visual Art Education. Angelique began her teaching career with the Cleveland Metropolitan school district and is currently with the Cleveland Heights - University Heights school district.

In Angelique's daily work with children, she gains inspiration from seeing their creative ideas and unique individuality. She pushes her students to see their abilities with the belief that anything is possible. Angelique's teaching encompasses a global approach with a focus on multicultural education. It is her firm belief that, "THE ARTS CHANGE LIVES!"
