SVES Studio Art

The child is the artist. The artroom is their studio.  On studio days, it is the artist's job to generate ideas, explore materials, gather tools and formulate the steps to bring their idea to fruition. We create "play" art and "care" art, and both have their own imporant role in helping students ask, "What's next?"  Creative thinking can be practiced and developed, and the Studio Habits of Mind* are the thinking dispositions we practice in the art room throughout the semester.  I am so grateful to get to know your child through the artwork that they create, and to provide a space to foster confidence, creativity and connections.
