Sixth grade students began this painting by drawing their hands holding symbols to represent things they enjoy, love, or feel passionately about. They drew three hands that overlapped in places. Then students reviewed their knowledge of the color wheel. Students used the primary colors and black and white to create secondary and tertiary (intermediate) colors, as well as tints, tones, and shades to fill in the shapes in their artworks.
