Frida Kahlo Inspired Self Portraits

Students learned about the art of Mexican artist Frida Kahlo.  Kahlo loved to include her pets in her expressive self portraits.  Students created their own self portraits and included their pets.  We focused on placement, proportion and detail. Students used markers, crayons and paint to create their artwork.  They used oil pastels, glue, and other mixed media to decorate their special picture frames for display.
