1st Georgia O'Keefe Resist Flowers

Students learned about the American landscape painter, Georgia O'Keefe, observing similar themes of nature in many of her paintings. Students learned about a resist technique, first drawing the outline of their flowers and leaves in oil pastel, and then painting over their outlines with tempera paint cakes. Once dry, students cut apart their flowers, layering the petals and leaves on top of another piece of paper to create their final collaged, mixed media piece.
