JUBA DANCE : MUSIC INSPIRED ARTWORK

Students in grades 3-4-5 listened to a piece of music called JUBA DANCE, by Florence Price. We talked about how does the music make you feel? What kinds of shapes and colors could show what this song might look like it was an artwork. We listened to the song a few more times as we created many various lines and shapes on our page... then we took a break away from this project, and came back to it to talk about composition, and how we filled our page. Listened one last time and added the finishing touches. This is a slideshow of all the submitted projects. They are each unique, just like our students. We all hear and see things differently. How does this song make you feel when you listen to it? What do you think it would look like?
