In this Hispanic Heritage Month project, students explored cultural identity and imagination through storytelling and art. After reading Bronx is My Home by Alyssa Reynoso-Morris, they created personal drawings called Queens is My Home, reflecting on their own communities. Inspired by the surreal landscapes of artist Xul Solar, students then designed their own fantastical cityscapes using chalk pastels, markers, and construction paper, blending reality with imagination to showcase their unique perspectives of home and community.
