2nd grade weaving

Students created a paper looms and cut strips of paper to weave with. They were instructed and given worksheets on Textiles detailing the warp and weft to help when working on their paper weaving. Next, students cut out hearts where we talked about the positive and negative spaces. Students chose to use either the frame or the heart in their weaving, then finished it with a choice of materials. Students were asked to make sure the edges looked finished when they were done.
