Yayoi Kusama

Description This Yayoi Kusama watercolor painting art lesson has students make an abstract eye painting in the style of female Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama. Students will learn how Kusama used her signature dot to become the "princess of dots" while creating an abstract painting of their own. This is a perfect lesson to celebrate Women's History Month, Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month or any time of the year. Students will learn how to create an abstract eye painting that uses pattern to create unity. ?This is a great middle school or high school art lesson to teach UNITY, CONTRAST and PATTERN.
