Observational Warm/Cool Leaves

Students implemented observation skills in order to create an outline drawing of a variety of leaves (organic shapes). Next, after reviewing warm colors (red, yellow, orange) and cool colors (blue, violet, green), students painted the inside of the leaves with either color family. As a contrast, the artists then composed a background utilizing chalk pastels (in the opposing color family), which they blended with their fingers.
