Our students shared all the different ways that they like to have fun in the snow and were then invited to imagine what it would look like to others if they were to try to catch a snowflake on their tongue. What would their friends see? What angle would their head be at? What colorful snow clothes would they be wearing? We started out by drawing a big circle for our head, with a slightly smaller circle inside that for our mouth, and a half circle laying on top of that for our nose. They then added teeth, a tongue, snowflakes, scarves, jackets, hats or earmuffs, and in some cases, even snowballs!
