Black History Month Artworks

Scholars at Dorothy J. Vaughan studied the life and artwork of the artists Alma Thomas, Romare Bearden, and Jacob Lawrence. Scholars made artwork inspired by these artists. Upper grades were also introduced to living contemporary artists like Kara Walker, Amy Sherald, Kehinde Wiley, Kerry James Marshall, Michael Ray Charles, Nick Cave, and Lorna Simpson.
