Bioluminescent Plankton - Value

Students learned about tiny light-up organisms called bioluminescent plankton inspired by the west coast beaches. 4th grade students used chalk pastel to draw the lines that became smeared to make the glowing, rolling waves. They also practiced blending techniques to fill the space on their paper with a dazzling, nighttime sky and showed value in the water. As a fun finish, we added some splatter painted white stars to light up the sky.
