About this School Project (Y5/KG Valentine Patterned Hearts)
Happy Valentine's Day! In this lesson we will read the story "In My Heart, A Book of Feelings" by Jo Witek, learning how our heart has many feelings. The illustrations (drawings) have great line patterns in them too! Students review the different types of lines we have been learning throughout the year. Students also learn about monochromatic color and how if we add white to one color, we can create tints. We practice drawing a symmetrical heart, making it the same on both sides. Students use their knowledge of different lines to draw different line patterns inside their hearts using a variety of the color red.
