About this School Project (1st Patterned Mittens)
Students read the book by author Jan Brett, “The Mitten” which talks about how a young boy loses his mitten because it is the color white. Next, students drew two mittens; a matching pair by tracing their hands. Students included winter themed colors and patterns inside their mittens. Students cut out their mittens and glued the pair of mittens onto their papers either choosing to glue them side by side, or in the shape of the State of Michigan. Lastly, students painted or drew with crayon, white snowflakes in the background to represent winter.
