About this School Project (2nd Australian Great Barrier Reef Fish Sculptures)
Second grade students reviewed where clay comes from and created their own 3D fish forms by picking a species of fish whose habitat is the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. Students then learned how to add pieces to their fish such as eyes and fins using the scor and slip methods. This helped to make our fish more 3D. We also used different tools to create at least two different textures in our fish. Lastly, we used three glaze colors to glaze our school of fish.
