About this School Project (1st Koi Fish Drawing)
Students first learn about Koi fish in Japan and China and how they are one of the oldest fish, and mainly are in warm colors. Students learn how to draw a Koi Fish, using texture in the fins, pattern in the scales, and details such as the mustache on the fish. Some students may choose to include water for their fish too. Next, students learn about the warm colors of Koi Fish such as reds, oranges, and yellows. Students outline their fish in sharpie marker and then use markers to color their Koi, using repeating colors to create a pattern in their fins and scales. We then painted our water using blue tempera paint. What is your favorite fish?

Maddie you did a great job drawing the koi fish. The colors are so amazing and shows how the fish swims in the water. Keep up the good work Maddie. ??

You’re so lucky that you can learn about Koi fish and also draw and paint one. The curvy tail and the colors are perfect. Great work.
