About this School Project (2nd Australian Aboriginal Dot Prints)
Students study the country of Australia, the Aboriginal people who live there, the music they make, and the artworks they create based on their culture. Aboriginal people create dot paintings using animals that live in Australia as their inspiration. Students chose an Australian animal and drew the outline of the shape of the animal creating positive and negative space. We then use neutral colors to fill in the positive space inside our animals. Students then chose contrasting colors native to Australian culture and meaning to help their animals stand out from their backgrounds in rows of dots in the negative space around their animals. Which is your favorite Australian animal?
