About this School Project (1st Matisse Cut Paper Collage)
Students studied the bright cut-out shapes of the artist Henri Matisse. Students learned about organic, abstract, and non-representational shapes. Students cut out their own shapes focusing on primary, secondary, warm and cool, and light and dark colors. Students also learned about variety, composition, and pattern in design, using large, medium and small shapes.
