About this School Project (Y5/KG Mouse Paint)
Students read the book "Mouse Paint" by Ellen Stoll Walsh, where white mice learn how to mix primary colors to create secondary colors using paint. Students then reviewed how to make secondary colors from Primary Colors. Choosing option 1, some students experimented with mixing primary paint colors on their papers to create secondary colors. Choosing option 2, some students experimented with mixing crayon to make primary colors turn into secondary colors. In our paintings, the mice leave a white space on the paper so that they can blend in to the paper and hide from a cat. We created our mice out of white cut paper and added eyes and ears.
