About this School Project (KG Piet Mondrian Collage)
Students are learning about the artist Piet Mondrian and creating a collage using paper. Mondrian liked to use Primary Colors to create his artworks. He used Geometric Shapes such as squares and rectangles in Primary Colors, Red, Blue, and Yellow in his collages. Piet liked visiting busy cities. He often thought about what it would look like if he was a bird flying above the city looking down. What would he see? Streets and buildings. In our collage, our streets are our black lines, and our buildings are our red, yellow, and blue geometric shapes. We arranged our "buildings" and "streets" like our own neighborhood might look if we were flying above and looking down like a bird. Some students were creative and used other materials like crayons, markers, and colored pencils to color their collage instead of using construction paper.
