My career in art began when my father gave me a 35mm camera for my thirteenth birthday. I took pictures of everything! My love for photography led me to an interest in other areas of art such as ceramics and painting. I am proud to say I graduated from Winthrop University in South Carolina in 2003 with a B.A in art education and a minor in art history, and have continued my education by becoming a National Board Certified teacher in 2009. I have also had training in the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program as well as the Highly Effective Teaching Model and Gifted and Talented.

I feel very blessed to do what I do because teaching children is my passion! I love helping students explore new ideas through art and inspiring them to use their imaginations. I believe a child?s imagination, excitement, and wonder is as important to develop as knowledge and intelligence. How lucky I am to share my love of art love with children!
