Mary Hall
I remember being in 4th grade and knowing for certain that I either wanted to be a cartoonist or a teacher. My love for education and for art have grown together throughout the years, but I never thought to TEACH art until I was in my third year of college. I am so happy to have found a career that combines both of my passions, as well as to be teaching in a place that I've always considered home.
I graduated from Grand Valley State University in 2010 and taught previously at TCAPS for grades K-6. My ... read morepersonal artwork usually manifests itself in the form of drawing, painting and printmaking. I have participated in art fairs in the past, selling screen-printed shirts, linoleum prints, drawings, wallets and jewelry.
I learn every day from my wonderful students, who can often be a rich source of humor and wisdom. I believe in allowing students to explore and express their creativity in their own way. We learn about a variety of techniques, materials and artists then students are given ample "Open Studio" time to create things that they care about, and investigate their interests and curiosities!
Thank you for participating, and have fun looking at all of the creations the students will be making this year!
