Originally from George, I was born and raised in northwest Iowa. After graduating from George-Little Rock High School, I went on to attend the University of Iowa where I earned my B.A. with distinction in Art Education and a minor in Psychology in 2002. I earned my Masters in Art Education from the University of Northern Iowa in 2019 where I focused my research on the relationship between students and nature. My husband, Terry, and I have enjoyed ... read more living in Spirit Lake since 2003. I taught art in the Harris-Lake Park School District from 2003-2013. I served as art teacher in the Spirit Lake Middle School during 2013-2014 and began my Spirit Lake Elementary position in the fall of 2014. I love the challenge of fostering creativity and problem solving as well as giving kids tools and techniques that they can use to communicate exciting visual creations. I look forward to the great things the students will do every day. In my free time, I keep busy with our four daughters Alaina, Maggie, Kaci, and Lydia.
