Jodi Herring
Hi. I'm Ms. Herring, Smithfield's art teacher from 2018-2024. I studied studio art with an emphasis in sculpture, printmaking, and painting at The College of Charleston and Glasgow School of Art. I also trained at MassArt in Boston, MA in 2018 and 2023 for the Teaching for Artistic Behavior method. I had my art classroom set up as a studio space for my students to make their own original artwork in the centers of their choice! My focus was on process rather than product.
After teaching in Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools since 2008, I left Smithfield Elementary and the district in 2024 to move to Madrid, Spain. This Artsonia account is an archive of what was actively used prior to the pandemic in 2020. |
