Wendy Gruenenberg
Hi, I have been teaching art at Raymond School for 18 years. I began my career teaching art in the Minneapolis Public School System. I moved to Milwaukee in 1990 and taught art at the Milwaukee Montessori School and at Lake Bluff Elementary School in Shorewood. My education includes a Bachelor's degree from the University of Minnesota and a Master's degree from Concordia University in Mequon WI.
When I began working at Raymond I felt like I had found my home. The staff, the community, and especially ... read more the children are second to none. I love seeing the curiosity and creativity the students show as they explore new art materials, technics and ideas.
I believe art is an integral part of a child's education. At Raymond our art program includes lessons which integrate with many of the other subject areas. We find creative ways to reinforce lessons learned in math, reading, writing, social studies and science. Our art program also provides children with an opportunity to develop creative, abstract thinking skills.
From cave paintings to the technological age we now live in art continues to be a basic part of the human experience. Imagine how boring our world would be with no art!
