When I was a young girl I used to mow the lawns of our neighbors in Hayward, California to make some money. Early Saturday morning I would wheel our push mower out of the garage and begin my route. My goal is to excite my students into discovering the creativity within them. I also desire to help them produce works of art that are not only worthy of being hung on the refrigerator door but perhaps framed and hung in a place of honor. After graduating from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan with an Education degree in English and Fine Arts, I went on to enthusiastically teach sixth grade for eight years in Anchorage, Alaska. That is where I met my husband Doug, who also teaches here at WCS as the ES World Wonder and Discovery Barn Science Specialist.
