Lindsay Valentine
Hello! I am Lindsay Valentine, proud art teacher of the amazing Eagle artists of Nelson. A University of Maine graduate with a Bachelors of Art with a photography concentration, I have owned my own photography business since 2005. I started my teaching career working as a substitute and then teaching children with emotional and behavioral disabilities for 2 years before moving to Florida. My art teaching career started in 2014, where I taught at Shaw Elementary, Lamb Elementary and now I am thrilled to be a ... read moret Nelson Elementary.
Though I have an incredible love and passion for art, my greatest joy and sense of accomplishment stems from building meaningful relationships with all of my students and helping each child be the best version of themselves. I want students to feel seen, loved and appreciated. I have boundless energy when it comes to making art class a fun, magical place where every student knows they belong. I believe that we’re building good humans, not just good artists.
I have been awarded with two Rookie of the Year art teacher nominations, the Warren Elly Art Educator Award, Teacher of the Year and Ida S. Baker Diversity Educator Award for Nelson Elementary in 2022, and Prang’s Art Teacher of the Month.
When I’m not living at school I’m being a total homebody, hanging with my family and fur children, crafting, refinishing furniture, trying my hand at drawing, painting and other artsy endeavors. I’m a Pinterest addict, a music lover and have a childlike obsession with everything Disney.
