Amy Donohoe
I have been a teacher in Oceanport since 1990. I went to Beaver College (now Arcadia University) in Glenside, PA. Next, I attended Monmouth University where I received my masters degree in teaching. I have three certifications: Elementary Education in grades K-8, Special Ed in grades K-12, and Art in grades K-12. I have worked in both schools in Oceanport, teaching basic skills, in class support, third grade, fourth grade, home instruction, math, and social studies. However, I have spent the majority of my ... read more33 year career teaching art. It is a complete joy to teach your children and see their smiling faces when they create something beautiful. I met my husband when we shared a classroom at Maple Place. When we married and began our family we knew that there was only one place we wanted to send our children to school and that was our beloved Oceanport. Now we have three children in college (22, 20 & 19 years old) who keep us very busy and fill our lives with love, laughter and excitement. I am passionate about teaching your children about art, but also about being kind, caring, responsible and respectful. I love to get up each morning and start my day with a workout and then get right to school to create stuff with your children in art class. I hope you are enjoying seeing your child's art work on Artsonia. Fee free to reach out with any questions (adonohoe@oceanportschools.org) and don't forget to come to the annual art show in the end of May or beginning of June.
