Lee Means
Hi! My name is Lee Means, aka Ms. Lee. This is my fourth year teaching at Mary Scroggs Elementary! I am very excited to get to know all of my students. I have been teaching art for 18 years. I strive to facilitate a safe, inspiring space where children can experiment, play and turn mistakes into grand discoveries!
The Scrogg’s art room is organized by studios, and students take part in what’s called “studio learning.” Studios are defined by their materials and types of artwork produced in them. The majo ... read morer studios in the art room are the Drawing Studio, Painting Studio, Collage Studio, Dry Sculpture (Salvaged Junk), and the Clay Studio. Throughout the year there are numerous “POP UP” Studios such as Sewing, Weaving, Printmaking, Knitting, etc. Studio learning fosters independence, creativity, critical thinking and stewardship, as students learn to care for materials and maintain organization in each studio.
Artsonia will be a place where your student can digitally upload their work, share it with others and experience a digital gallery showcase!
You can purchase items (though this is absolutely not necessary) with your child's artwork displayed. The money you spend here will directly support the art program at Scroggs.
