Hello Neary Families (and their relatives and friends!),
I am excited to have an ongoing Art Show of sorts through the Artsonia web site. I love teaching Art at the Neary School and am excited to have found a way to easily share what we do in "Studio 24". So many of our students love coming to Art. Their enthusiasm is wonderful and so many of them are fearless in tackling our projects. We meet just once a week so my goal is always to get them creating.
Art involves creativity, but it also involves ma ... read moreny other skills that are applicable to many facets of life such as: craftsmanship perseverance troubleshooting and problem solving time management following instructions and cooperation
We're constantly working all of these skills in the Art room! And, yes, each lesson ties to the Massachusetts Frameworks set for Visual Arts, too. Additionally, various art lessons are connected to the students' curriculum; inspired by famous artists or indigenous people; and involve the use of many different mediums and techniques.
I hope you enjoy looking at children's art work as much as I do. I often hear from parents that they have some of their child's art framed and on display at home. That always makes my day! And, more importantly, it must bring joy and pride to the child--knowing that their work has contributed to making their house a home!
Thank you for your continued support of the Neary Art department and enjoy all of the beautiful art posted on Artsonia!
