I have been teaching art for 26 years. 20 of those years have been at Lowe Elementary School. The Lowe art studio is designed to teach students Artistic Behaviors so that they can make decisions about their own art making. Students are guided to research and observe art made by others and to look closely at the world around them. Students are asked to peer critique, where they give and receive feedback. After reflecting about the feedback, they are asked to revise their work to improve it.
