Halie Johnson
Hello! I am Ms. Johnson, your art teacher. This is my second year teaching and I graduated from UW-Whitewater in 2018. A little bit about me: I live in Milwaukee, I love nature/outdoors, I love animals, I enjoy making my own art and making art for others. One of my favorite artists is Frida Kahlo. My focus is around guiding students to be their absolute best and to grow creatively. I focus on mindfulness, SEL, and I strive to help students feel safe and accepted for who they are so they may be able to fully express themselves with the art that they make. Kasia Drake-Hames
It is a pleasure to be part of the Art Department at West Allis/West Milwaukee, where I teach at Longfellow and Wilson Elementary schools. I am currently working toward K-12 Art Ed licensure and certification from UW-Milwaukee, where I obtained a BFA degree in Fiber in 2005. As an art educator, I place high value on student-led learning and providing students with choice in the art studio. This school year, you will see your students grow in their creativity and ownership of their artistic voices.
