Theresa McGuire
Hi! I'm Theresa McGuire. I'm the new art teacher at Lake Middle School! I'm SO excited to be a part of the Lake family and sharing my love of art with the students and community! I love my family and we love to hike, ski, camp, and travel on the weekends. I was inspired to major in art and become a teacher from my father. He was an artist and I grew up sitting next to him in his art studio. Some little facts about me are:
I have a BA of Fine Arts from Fort Lewis College, Durango, CO
I played soccer for Fort Lewis College for 4 years and coached Denver SCORES at Cowell for 8 years, many years ago
I have a M.Ed. in Arts Integration from Lesley University
I have taught Elementary Art for 19 years, 1 in Colorado Springs, 3 at a charter school, 8 at Cowell elementary and 7 at Kunsmiller Creative Arts
Academy and now I'm making the leap to MIDDLE SCHOOL!! Yay!
I LOVE Día de los Muertos! I collect La Katrinas and sugar skulls. I also love to draw rockabilly portraits in charcoal with sugar skull painted faces.
