Welcome to our web museum!
I have been an elementary art teacher since 2004 and working in the Jordan School District since 2013. Previously I have taught elementary art in the Hutchinson School District as well as middle school art in Dassel-Cokato. I grew up in Mankato, Minnesota and then went on to graduate from St. Olaf College. Um ya ya! I acquired my Master's Degree from The College of St. Scholastica where I also received my Elementary Education classroom teaching license for grades K-6.
I ... read moream so excited to be your child's art teacher. It is my goal to make art a fun and enjoyable experience for all students while they learn new content and techniques. Students will learn that art constantly surrounds them. Kindergarten students explore the elements of art and how they can be used to create a masterpiece. First grade students study the work of famous artists and use their masterpieces as inspiration for their own artistic creations. In second grade, students will travel around the world and discover how different cultures create works of art. We will use these trips as inspiration for the work we create. In third grade, students will explore how they can use art to make the world a better place to live for all. Fourth graders will learn about different careers that involve art and how they can put their creative skills to work throughout their future. I encourage you to discuss with your child what we are currently studying and make connections at home to our current art lesson!
