My middle school art teacher was the most inspiring and encouraging adult in my life. She created a space where I felt welcome and safe. From the moment I walked into her art room, I knew that I wanted to be an art teacher when I grew up and give back those feelings of safety, encouragement, and love to others and she did for me.
