Welcome to our online portfolio!! I'm always so happy and excited to share student work with our families! Art was the area that continually made me feel successful as a kid when the rest of school wasn't the easiest. I'm so thankful I was given the opportunity to have art in elementary school, even though we lived in a rural area Wy. I'm also excited to now be providing that same experience for my students. My parents encouraged me to pursue my art so a ... read morefter graduating High School, I attended Eastern Wyoming College for an associate's degree, the University Of Wyoming for a bachelor's degree in fine art, and Utah State University for a Master of Fine Arts degree. I was able to start teaching Art at our local elementary school in Wa in 2016 and went back to school to get a k-12 teaching certificate while teaching. I taught elementary art in Woodland Washington for 5 years (k-1 art 3 years, k-4 2 years), before returning home to Wyoming in 2021 to teach Art here at Highland Park. As an art teacher, I aim to provide a safe and engaging learning environment for all students. I love teaching kids art history and the tricks of drawing/painting/making. I encourage all kids to think of themselves as artists! When I'm not teaching art I love spending time with my family and dogs, drawing and creating my own Art, being outdoors, and riding horses. I am passionate about art and kids and I feel lucky to have the job I do!!
